As I grow, my seed shoots from a sappling to a sprout
My yellow pedals reaching out as i stare at the glaring sun
I yearn for water, but when it comes it seems to come in a crashing storm, or not at all
Gravity roots me to the Earth, yanking and taunting as i attempt to touch the clouds
But no matter how tall i am, winter comes, and i start over
I wish that i were a pine, tall and strong, giving shelter to all who seek it
I want to grow tall, giving no regard to winter’s biting remarks
Never ever stopping my journey until the whole wide world is nothing but a pile of dust
Despite this, i still seem to glow, spreading joy to all those who pass
For now, i sit in my own shadow, knowing, my seeds where enough.
And, until my time comes, i will reach for the Stars
