SKATEBOARD

The rough surface grips my shoes

The once smooth wood on the bottom is now scratched

Wheels crash on the street

I ride through the fresh air and take a deep breathe in

My legs bend as I try to get off the ground

I fly through the air then find my self rolling again

–Ian Vanderlinden

FREE AGAIN

Being home is so boring

Need to go to school with my friends

This quarantine is holding me in

So say it with me if you feel the same

Boring, but it will end

Soon we will be free again we just have to wait

–Astrid Vicente

BREEZE

The chill wind whipping

Pushing up against my jacket in a swirl of freshness

The scent of fall leaves lingering in the air

The bite of the cold

Mixing with the relief from the hot humid sun

The taste of honeysuckle left as it passes

The roar in my ears

As it blows in my direction in anger just for a second

Subsiding to the calm before it came

–Britney Wagner

I LIKE HOCKEY

I can’t wait to feel the ice under my blades

The crisp air as I speed around

The feel of the crunch of the ice as I make a sharp turn

Feeling the vibration of my stick when I take a slap shot

Sight of the puck going in the net.

–Riley Walchli

Staining hands of orange

The tasty Doritos fills my mouth

with it crumbling in my mouth

Doritos in it red bag it is super yummy in my tummy.

Hot Chocolate the iconic hot drink of the winter
Feel warm like the furnace
Enjoy the look of cocoa power with water
Smell the creamy sweet milk chocolate
Tastes rich like a flower, feeling that chocolate bar in a drink taste or you can make it more rich and add milk to it
Now you won’t feel frozen like an ice cube in the winter

–Justin Walton

Bright sun on the beach,

The sand on the bottom of you feet,

The breeze on your face,

The waves crashing down

The water on your face

–Jayce Ware

PAPER

Bright white and silky smooth,

Paper crumples and shifts as the pen moves

Making the swirls of another life –

The corners turn yellow as the years move on

One day to be forgotten,

A life more than mine.

–Hannah White

I flew through the sky and over the mountains that went through the clouds. My wings were as straight as paper not a single wrinkle. I saw a meadow and landed in the middle of it and sat down. I folded my wings and laid down and stared up into the sky. I saw clouds moving and shaping into shapes like a dragon, cat, circle, and mouse. I smiled at each one i found.

MAYDA ELIZABETH MARSH

Her skin was as a summer lily sprinkled with seeds

Her hair was golden as sun rays and soft as spring moss

Her eyes sparkled as the touch of ice

Her touch was as of a ghost’s cold and of death

There she stood looking over Pemberley, birds singing their

song around her.

–Summer Willis

A GIRAFFE

Brown spotted blotches on rough yellow fur,

Shooting above all trees with it’s elevator like neck.

Quiet, light sounds of shuffling hooves,

Awaken the deep green leaves rustling in the wind.

The strong scents lurking through the air,

Smells quite delightful to the long necked creature.

The sun blazing high in the sky,

Far too hot for any humans like.

Magnificent creatures roaming freely deep in the wilderness of Africa.

–Grace Wilson

bob is the thing I am doing

shiny glowing

angry grunts with fists of sharp claws

painful diamond blue sword

kills you fast with no attack recorded

the energy used to kill me is astronomical

–Skyler Wood

Beach aroma and breezy winds

Sand between your toes

the warmth of the sun against your skin

Walks across the sandy beach

Swimming in the cool waves

–Roslyn Young
