BASKETBALL

my squeeky shoes run across the wooden flooring of the basketball court

I bend down a reach out for the ball i’m so familiar with, the leathery feeling beetween my fingertips.

“thump, thump” the ball goes on the court. I walk to the line and wind up.

As I inhale,     a wauf of the leathery smell touches my nose.

My palms feel sweaty-  I jump up and release the ball.

CAMERA

Not quite the lightest but makes remarkable art

To capture a moment in time without a pause

The lenses, so shiny you can see your own reflection

A flash so blinding you can’t see for a moment

You have made history visual for many

And will continue to capture the good and the bad,

The light and the dark,

And make history with just a push of a button

THE SNOWY FOREST

The snow atop the peak of the rocky mountain.

The trees towering above the floor, like giants in a fairy tale.

The clouds sprinkle the snow on the grass like sprinkles on a warm cupcake

The animals I seldom see Prancing with their family

The hot fire is warm with Flames dancing from one Log to the next.

The moon seems to cut through the heavy cloud cover, like a hot knife through butter.

The Pine needle’s aroma fills the air and leaves have sticky sap to the touch

A dear plows through the deep snow

The wolves sound their war cry for all to know

An owl perches on a tree branch, its tan wings held out huddled around its meal for the night.

The sky is a black canvas,

The Snowy Forest is as quiet as a mouse but as alive as you and me.

PERFECT SUMMER NIGHT

It was a warm July evening

We wandered through the woods

The tall grass brushing on our legs as

We walked

The warm air blew our hair into our faces

As we trekked on we came across a small pond

Taking our shoes off to get in

We splashed and played until our feet got cold

As the sun set we started back to the house

As we got back we were handed cold sodas

They felt cool going down our throats

We pulled up camp chairs and sat around

A cackling fire feeling

The warmth on our faces as

We fell into a peaceful sleep

Around the fire

SPRING

The sun was shining.

As the spring breeze was blowing.

The flowers were blooming.

Spring has arrived.

The birds were chirping their song.

The clouds were fluffy like cotton candy.

All the snow has melted, and the sunshine comes in.

It’s the perfect time to be outside.

Summer will be around the corner.

Then Autumn, where the leaves are falling and makes beautiful art.

The smell of pumpkin spice makes autumn the best.

Then winter wonderland, the smell of peppermint makes winter memorable.

And this keeps repeating for a myriad of time.

For me, Spring and Autumn are the most beautiful.

Because the nature of these two seasons are like a painting.

SPRING

Beautiful, beautiful, almost always on time. She always comes after winter to brighten up people’s lives. Something as beautiful as light or life itself comes. Spring comes after a fierce winter. Spring marks the beginning of every child’s happiness. When spring comes the earth begins to turn bright green. The plants begin to grow and the animals that wintered in the cold and threatening winter come out to live. Unknowingly spring arrives to brighten people’s lives. A single flower can change a person’s day. Spring comes to bring good news of happiness. The cold moves away and the warmth begins to come along with the wonderful spring.

In my garden is a yellow sunflower,

And it is a very big flower.

It follows the sun until the sunset,

That sunflower is the biggest of that set.

The sunflower shines like a star,

And is the most prettiest thing by far.

SOCCER BALL

In my garden is a yellow sunflower,

And it is a very big flower.

It follows the sun until the sunset,

That sunflower is the biggest of that set.

The sunflower shines like a star,

And is the most prettiest thing by far.

DISNEYLAND

Stepping foot through the gates with excitement

Smelling popcorn, pretzel’s and hotdogs on the way

Waiting in the hot sun to get on a ride

Wind blowing in my hair nervous to go down the hill

I put the warm, soft sweet churro in my mouth

I open the door there’s a lot of toys, cloths, and jewelry.

Camera flash with a big smile for a family memory

A character in the corner go run to get a big huge hug

Sit down on main street and all the characters pass by

Walk back to the hotel in disappointment that the day is over

watch from the hotel window the fireworks pop and shine

wake up in excitement another day at the happiest place on earth

smooth fur and bushy tail.

the fox lay quietly on a rock

dark black eyes and pointy ears,

There was a sudden noise of a growl.

it was hunting season.

–Clara Nielsen

Muddy soles ciaked with dirt,

collecting petals, grass, and bits of earth.

They are pieces of the winding path

and evidence of the steep climb.

Filled with sights and sounds both new and old,

aching muscles, limbs, and toes.

The soaring summit fills my heart with surprise,

erases the tired from my eyes.

When the mountains call again, I’ll go,

and venture into the unknown.
